Kathmandu. Beautician and nail and hair technician Tika Pun Gurung has won the award in the category of best nail and hair technician (beauty) in the ‘6th International Excellence Award’ held in Nepal this year.
At the ‘Indo Nepal Cultural Festival and 6th International Excellence Award’ held at Hotel Radisson in the capital, the award was presented to her by the famous Indian actress and former MP Jai Prada along with senior musician Shambhujeet Baskota, senior musician Raju Singh, senior actresses, Bashundhara Bhushal, Chaityadevi and Bhuvan Chand was provided as .
Active in the beauty profession for more than a decade and a half, Tika has been gaining fame not only in Nepal but also abroad by presenting her beauty art. Having worked as a make-up artist for 3 years in Television Maldives in Maldives, she has been promoting her art field internationally as a beautician in countries including Dubai, Sri Lanka, Thailand.
Currently, she has been providing beauty training and employment opportunities to many people by running Sparkle Beauty Parlor in New Baneshwor and has been honored in various ceremonies and programs in Nepal.
The award ceremony was grandly completed in Nepal Chamber of Commerce Nepal Women’s Chamber’s presentation, Ledivine, India’s organization and pageant Nepal’s associate.
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Indira Rana was the chief guest and popular Indian actress Jai Prada was the special guest at the ceremony. The ceremony was attended by high-ranking people from Nepal and India, celebrities and famous artists as well as more than seven hundred spectators.
The award was given to more than 4 dozen eminent persons of various fields who have contributed in various fields including art, literature and culture and have earned fame in social life. About three dozen more personalities from Nepal and one and a half dozen more personalities from India received awards.
Famous artists of Nepal singer Anand Karki, singer Yam Baral performed in the ceremony, Indian Kathak dancers danced and ramp models from Nepal and India also performed a ramp show with clothes reflecting the culture of both countries.
