Social activist Megh Subedi opens social organization Shadow Support Foundation in the US

Pittsburgh, PA – February 15, 2025 – The Shadow Support Foundation marked its official inauguration with a grand event attended by over 50 community leaders and entrepreneurs from Erie, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, and Scranton, PA.

The event, held from 1:40 PM to 4:30 PM, was a significant milestone for the Foundation, which aims to uplift individuals and communities facing challenging conditions. The inauguration featured several distinguished speakers who shared the Foundation’s mission, vision, and upcoming programs. Co-founder and Board Member Charan Subedi presented the Foundation’s mission and vision, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to bringing hope and improving the lives of those in need.

Founder and President Meg Subedi highlighted the various programs designed to support individuals and communities. She spoke passionately about the Foundation’s efforts to help those living under challenging conditions, aiming to bring a ray of hope to their daily lives and careers. Board Member Narayan Bharati welcomed all guests from Pittsburgh and other cities, expressing gratitude for their support and participation.

Bhim Subedi, another Board Member, introduced the Foundation’s immediate programs, including arts classes, a library portal, and Nepali language classes, which aim to enrich the community’s cultural and educational landscape. The event also featured other notable board members, including Robin Vista, Dilli Chamlagai, Radha Timsina, Yogesh Nepal, Pandu Nepal, and Chandra Khadka, as well as representatives from Erie, Harrisburg, Lancaster, and Scranton, PA. Their collective efforts and dedication to the Foundation’s cause were evident throughout the event. Leaders from the Bhutanese-American community in Pittsburgh, including Sanchman Rai, Bikash Rai, Rup Pokhrel, Gyam Adhikari, Ashok Rai, Tek Rimal, Ganga Baral, Jeevan Subba, Pralad Mishra, TB Gurung, Kumar Odari, K.N. Timsina, and Shanta Sharma, also graced the event.

Their presence underscored the community’s strong support for the Foundation’s mission. The program concluded with an engaging Q&A session where Foundation board members Charan Subedi, Robin Vista, and President Meg Subedi addressed questions from the public. This interactive segment provided attendees with deeper insights into the Foundation’s goals and initiatives. The Shadow Support Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, health, research, and philanthropic purposes.
