Narayan Thapa elected President of the National Creator and Performer Academy

Kathmandu – The second annual general assembly of the National creator and performer academy  has successfully elected a new 15-member executive committee.

The assembly was held under the chairmanship of Rajendra Bajgain, with renowned lyricist Rajendra Thapa as the chief guest. During the event, Narayan Thapa was unanimously elected as the new President, while Deepak Sharma was elected unopposed as the Senior Vice-President.

Similarly, with mutual consensus, Sanam Kathayat was elected as the Vice-President, Rita KC as the General Secretary, and Benish Paudel and Pratiksha Kafle were elected unopposed as the Women’s Secretary and Treasurer, respectively.

The following members were also elected unopposed to the executive committee:

  • Manoj Pariyar

  • Birendra Singh Bhat

  • Kopila Shivakoti

  • Parbati Bam

  • Gita Pandey

  • Subash Timilsina

  • Pramod DG

  • Prajwol Raj Bhatt

Out of the 17 seats in the executive committee, two remaining members will be appointed by the newly elected committee.

The general assembly was held at the conference hall of Kimchi Restaurant, Anamnagar, and was graced by the presence of several distinguished personalities including founding advisors Raju Singh, Dr. Tika Bhandari, Madhav Raj Kharel, President of the Musicians’ Association Ashta Lama, Dr. Om Krishna Prasai, B.B. Thapa, and Rajendra Luitel, among others.

In his post-election address, newly elected President Narayan Thapa expressed the association’s commitment to addressing challenges in the field of music and creativity. He pledged to take concrete initiatives in curbing distortions and anomalies in the music industry, addressing the rising sense of discouragement among artists through counseling workshops, and working on health insurance and other social welfare programs for creators and artists.
